"HONORS 398 A: The Brain and the Healing Power of Poetry" was one of the most rewarding experiences in college so far. This was a course that I decided to take solely for the experience, as it was a 2-credit seminar that wouldn't count towards my Honors requirements. I've always loved poetry, both reading and writing it. In fact, I used to run a poetry blog during high school that I would upload to 3-5 times a week. Once I got into college however, it became harder and harder to find the time or energy to write anything, so I was excited to be able to take a class that focused on poetry.
The culmination of the class was actually a jointly published book, where we, as the students, designed, wrote, and created everything about the final product. It was incredible to see our work over the quarter polished and put into a physical item we could then take home and keep. This PDF is an excerpt of the book of specifically my section of poems.
