For one of the assignments for my English class, I watched a play hosted by the UW School of Drama. I had seen a Broadway show before, but this was the first time I had seen a live theatre performance so up close and personal. It was incredible. A life-changing experience, in some ways.
And I think that this play just happened to be exactly the kind of story I would love. It was beautiful, haunting, metaphorical, and evocative. It tackled grief and loss in such an interesting way, and the non-linear timeline made it all the more captivating. All of the actors did an amazing job as well, and I was so impressed by their execution of dialogue, their body language, their ability to enthrall the audience. I actually went and watched this play twice because it had such a profound impact on me, and I downloaded the entire script to reread it. I think this is undoubtedly a memory that I'll carry with me for a long, long time to come.
