a place of our own

My best friend from high school and I have been inseparable since we first met. We came to UW together and decided to dorm together. In our freshman year, we were in a triple with a third roommate. She was sweet and great to live with, but my friend and I were still really looking forward to having our own dorm room. We had so many plans for what things would be like when we would live together. And now, it's finally happening!

We decorated our entire room with fairy lights, tendrils of fake ivy, posters, sentimental photos, and lines of poetry. On the outside, we put up our socials and I drew the cartoon leaves from the TV show Heartstopper, which we both love. I'm so excited for this year, and I always feel incredibly lucky to have someone like my best friend at my side.
