My major requires one quarter of physics with lab, so (as a notorious physics hater) I reluctantly took PHYS 118 alongside 115. To my surprise, it actually ended up being quite fun. We worked in small groups of three the entire quarter, and I really liked my groupmates. We got along wonderfully, everyone pulled their weight on assignments, and we made efficient use of class time.
The experiments we did were interesting as well, and we got to play around with VR headsets when learning about atoms and circuit boards when learning about electricity. We had a lot of freedom during lab to familiarize ourselves with the technology, so it felt a bit like we were doing those enrichment activities for toddlers (in a good way)! It was very cool to see the concepts we learned in lecture applied to real-world technology, and for the first time, I thought, "Maybe physics isn't so bad."
